NCRPO launches quick response program
MANILA, Philippines - The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) is now literally just a text message away, as it launched “Subukan Nyo Po Kami (Try Us),” a quick response text messaging program yesterday to provide prompt police action on complaints.
“We want to make sure that the public can reach us anytime of the day and night, and that they can expect a quick police response from all units of the NCRPO within 24 hours,” NCRPO director Chief Superintendent Alan Purisima said.
He asked the public to send messages to 0915-8888181 and 0999-9018181 as he promised a quick response from concerned police units.
Purisima warned that police officers who fail to respond to the complaints and reports of a crime would be charged administratively for neglect of duty, which is punishable with suspension and forfeiture of pay.
He asked the public to send in their complete name and address before their complaints, which would be processed at the Regional Tactical Operations and Intelligence Center (RTOIC) at Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City.
“The sender’s name and address would be collected into our database. So the next time he sends his complaint, we would immediately regard it as authentic,” he said.
All complaints, Purisima said, would be forwarded to the police office concerned in the metropolis.
He asked the complainants to text back when the police fail respond to their text message so “we could immediately punish those concerned.”
The NCRPO has started distributing “Subukan Nyo Po Kami” stickers in the jurisdiction of its five police districts in Metro Manila.
Once the program succeeds in Metro Manila, Purisima said it would be replicated in other parts of the country.
