2 brods bully passerby; 1 brod dead, 1 hurt

MANILA, Philippines - Two brothers reportedly known for bullying their neighbors in Parola Compound picked the wrong victim Sunday night.

Police said the Lineses brothers – Joseph, 32; and Hernino, 34 – were reportedly drinking with their friends at the compound in Tondo, Manila when an unidentified man passed by. For reasons known only to them, Joseph reportedly punched the stranger.

Moments later, the stranger drew out a knife and repeatedly stabbed Joseph. Hernino tried to help his brother, but the stranger also attacked him.

The brothers were rushed to the Gat Andres Bonifacio Hospital, where Joseph was declared dead on arrival. Hernino is reportedly in critical condition.

Police recovered the murder weapon, a 13-inch kitchen knife. No one could identify the attacker.
