Jeepney rear-ends motorbike: Boy killed, 3 others injured

MANILA, Philippines - A four-year-old boy died while his older brother and his parents were hurt when a passenger jeepney bumped their motorcycle from behind in Quezon City Sunday night.

Senior Police Officer 2 Ronquillo Maano said Herman Jamisola died while being treated at the East Avenue Medical Center. His brother, five-year-old Steven; and his parents, Hommer and Emely, were also brought to the same hospital.

Police said the Jamisolas were riding their motorcycle along Congressional Road when they were rear-ended by a jeepney driven by Angel Cepres, 40, at around 4 p.m.

All of them were thrown off the motorcycle, but Herman was also run over by the jeepney.

Police said they have Cepres in custody, and he faces charges of reckless imprudence resulting in damage to property with homicide a nd multiple physical injuries.
