MANILA, Philippines - A porter assigned at the parking area of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 was commended by airport officials yesterday for his honesty after he returned a brown shoulder bag containing $5,600 (approximately P238,560) that was misplaced by an overseas Filipino worker who arrived from Abu Dhabi Monday.
NAIA action officer Danilo Chua identified the porter as Manuel Audis, 35, who is in charge of collecting pushcarts left behind by travelers.
Audis overheard some passengers talking about a bag that was left on top of a pushcart. Chua said Audis took the bag and turned it over to the NAIA action office.
The bag’s owner – Ulama Bailon Kasan from Mindanao, who arrived at NAIA on board Etihad Airlines from Abu Dhabi Monday afternoon – claimed her bag yesterday.
