Stradcom welcomes LTO internal audit
MANILA, Philippines - A Land Transportation Office contractor welcomed yesterday an internal audit ordered by LTO officer-in-charge Racquel Desiderio, saying it will pave the way for institutional reforms in the agency.
“We are ready as always, to cooperate with the LTO as they start the audit process and initiate positive reforms that will open opportunities of improvement both in systems and personnel performance,” said Margaux Salcedo, spokeswoman for information technology firm Stradcom Corp.
“It has always been a priority of Stradcom to continuously look for more innovative ways to improve our systems and applications to enhance the LTO-IT system,” she added.
Desiderio ordered the internal audit as one of her first acts as LTO chief. She was named to head the agency after Virginia Torres went on a 60-day leave of absence to defend herself against administrative charges filed against her for her alleged role in a failed takeover of Stradcom’s operations center at the LTO compound in Quezon City last December.
Salcedo said Stradcom has never stopped operations despite a five-month delay in the LTO’s payment of its services. The LTO’s unpaid obligations have reached P1.1 billion, she said.
