No foul play in Tsinoy's death

- Nestor Etolle -

Manila, Philippines - Police investigators yesterday ruled out foul play in the death of a sexagenarian Chinese-Filipino businessman whose decomposing body was discovered in his condominium unit in Sampaloc, Manila Wednesday.

The bloated body of Oscar Chua, 65, was found on the floor of his unit at the NRM Mansion, lying in a pool of blood.

“All indications point to accidental death of the victim. He may have suffered a heart attack, fell and hit his head on the floor,” said Inspector Armando Macaraeg, chief of the homicide section of the Manila Police District.

Neighbors complained of a foul odor from his unit, prompting the building administrator to force the door open. Police said there were no signs of forced entry or a struggle. The guard logbook showed the victim had not left the condominium since Saturday, the day he was last seen alive by residents.

Investigators are waiting for the results of an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
