MANILA, Philippines – The decomposing body of a 10-year-old girl reported missing for some 10 days was fished out of a creek by a Clean and Green crew of the City Hall yesterday in Valenzuela City.
Chief Inspector Danilo Bugay, Station Investigation and Detection Management Bureau chief, identified the victim as Lienna Mae Oxales of Lucero street in Barangay Veinte Reales.
NPD Scene of the Crime Operations Chief Superintendent Filemon Porciuncula who did the autopsy said the victim died of asphyxia by strangulation. He said it was possible that there was an attempt by still unidentified suspect or suspects to rape the victim. The victim could have resisted the attempt prompting the suspects to kill her, said the police.
The girl’s body was found at around 11 a.m. in a creek along the railroad tracks on MacArthur Highway in Barangay Marulas.
Also found not far from the creek were the victim’s pink shorts and slippers she last wore before she was found dead.
