- Pete Laude -

MANILA, Philippines - A 10-year-old girl who was missing for five days was found dead, her naked body floating in a creek in Valenzuela City, Thursday morning.

Senior Police Officer 1 Percy Villanueva said personnel from the city hall’s sanitation services found the body of Mae Camilet Oxales, a resident of Barangay Veinte Reales, as they were clearing railway tracks in Barangay Dalandanan at around 11 a.m.

The girl’s father, Ernesto Oxales Jr., told police his daughter left their house at around 7 p.m. on April 16 but never returned. Police recovered Mae’s slippers and short pants near her body.

Senior Superintendent Eric Reyes, Valenzuela City police chief, directed his men to dig deeper into the case.

Northern Police District crime laboratory personnel led by Chief Inspector Benigno Asilar autopsied the victim’s body, which is in the early stage of decomposition, to determine the exact cause of her death.
