Burglars break into Vietnamese diplomat's house
MANILA, Philippines - A Vietnamese man who works as a senior energy economist at the Asian Development Bank (ADB) lost two laptops, an undetermined amount of money and other possessions to burglars who broke into his house in Valle Verde 5, Pasig City Saturday night.
Bui Duy Thank and his household discovered they had been robbed when they woke up at around 8 a.m. yesterday.
Chief Superintendent Francisco Manalo, Eastern Police District director, said the robbers could have gained entry through a half-open window on the ground floor.
The burglars also took an ADB Blackberry personnel bag, which contained the diplomat’s two wallets, bank cards, identification cards and passport.
Manalo said he sent crime scene investigators to gather evidence at the crime scene and police officers to interview the ADB executive’s neighbors to find out if they noticed suspicious-looking individuals in the neighborhood prior to the burglary.
Manalo also ordered Pasig police chief Senior Superintendent Jesse Cardona to coordinate with the security guards who entered in their logbook the names of all visitors in the subdivision.
