Manila, Philippines - Motorists passing through the Las Piñas “friendship route” used exclusively by Las Piñas residents criticized village and subdivision guards for reportedly causing traffic jams over the past few days.
Manny Geslani said guards insisted on making motorists with expired “friendship stickers” pay P20 in order to go through the 54 villages and subdivisions covered by the friendship route, even though the city government has extended the deadline for motorists to get the stickers. The original deadline was March 31.
He said many motorists were stopped at many of the village gates as security guards and village personnel were busy collecting fees. Geslani said the motorist could either fork over the money or be refused entry.
