MANILA, Philippines - Former Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) chief of staff Ricardo David will formally assume today the post of the Bureau of Immigration (BI) commissioner.
BI officer-in-charge Ronaldo Ledesma will hand over to David the bureau’s flag in a simple turnover ceremony to be held at the bureau’s main office in Intramuros, Manila this morning.
David will preside over his first command conference with the division heads, where he is expected to be briefed on the bureau’s projects and programs.
Ledesma will return to his old post as executive director of the bureau’s special board of inquiry (SBI), a position he has held since the term of then commissioner Andrea Domingo.
A member of the Philippine Military Academy class of 1977, David also served as member of the Presidential Security Group during the administration of President Aquino’s mother, the late President Corazon Aquino.
