Sexagenarian found dead in hotel room
MANILA, Philippines - A 63-year-old former overseas worker was found dead by his 27-year-old companion at a hotel room they shared in Sta. Cruz, Manila yesterday morning.
The victim was identified through papers recovered in his possession as Jesus Danan, of Bataan, separated, and a former contract worker in Saudi Arabia.
Police Officer 2 Jet Tajonera said there were no visible signs of external injury on Danan’s body. “He could have died from sheer exhaustion that resulted in a heart attack after prolonged sex,” Tajonera said.
Police said Danan met a female sex worker in Sta. Cruz, Manila Monday night. They had drinks in a videoke bar before proceeding to a hotel.
The woman said they had sex several times, after which Danan fell asleep. The woman said she woke up at past 8 a.m. to relieve herself and saw Danan was still asleep. However, when it was the time to check out she said she tried to wake him up but he did not respond. She said she became terrified and called the hotel staff, who found that Danan was already dead.
Tajonera said the woman submitted herself to police investigation. He said they are still waiting for the results of the autopsy to determine the real cause of Danan’s death.
