- Reinir Padua -

MANILA, Philippines –  Two women were injured after a speeding taxi hit them in front of a police station in Quezon City yesterday morning.

Police said cabbie Rolando Manalang, 52, was driving his vehicle (TXW-983) along E. Rodriguez Jr. Avenue when the women – Sherylyn Castro, 21, believed to be four months pregnant; and Tina Roncesvalles, 33 – crossed the road in front of the Quezon City Police Station 2 as it rained.

Manalang said he failed to see the two women cross the road. He ended up sideswiping them.

The victims were rushed to the Quirino Memorial Medical Center for treatment. Police said Roncesvalles has been discharged from the hospital while Castro remains under observation.
