Sleeping infant smothered by brod

MANILA, Philippines - A four-month-old girl died of suffocation when she was smothered by her older brother as they were sleeping in their house in Barangay Sto. Niño, Marikina City yesterday.

Police said her parents rushed Rachelle Berdan to the Amang Rodriguez Medical Center at around 3:35 a.m. yesterday, but doctors declared her dead on arrival due to suffocation.

Berdan’s parents said they believe her death was an accident and refused to have it investigated by police.
