2 nabbed for jueteng in Taguig

- Aie Balagtas See -

MANILA, Philippines - Two men were arrested in an anti-illegal gambling drive in Taguig City Wednesday afternoon.

Paraphernalia for the illegal numbers game and P250 were confiscated from Elias Ebarasbal, 44, and Orlando Dimaguila, 41, according to a report signed by city police head Senior Superintendent Tomas Apolinario.

In a phone interview, however, Apolinario denied that the suspects were arrested due to jueteng. He told The STAR that the report was “kunyari lang. Walang jueteng dito (made up. There’s no jueteng here).” He said the game the two men played was “kas-kas,” but added that he was not familiar with the game.

Philippine National Police chief Director General Raul Bacalzo earlier warned police commanders of his one-strike policy once jueteng operators are found in their areas of jurisdiction.
