1 hurt in Pasig fire

- Non Alquitran -

MANILA, Philippines –  A man was injured when debris fell on him as he was helping the occupants of a commercial and residential building in Pasig City to save their belongings from a fire that broke out at 3 a.m. yesterday.

Rolando de Mesa was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment of minor burns and injuries.

Superintendent Ricardo Perdigon said the fire started at the building, owned by Rosario Bruno, 77, at 15 Countryside Avenue. Strong winds fanned the flames toward other commercial and apartment buildings.

It took firefighters at least an hour to put out the fire, whose cause is still unknown.
