Pinakamalaking Chinese New Year Countdown sa Rizal Park

MANILA, Philippines - Magsasa-sama ang iba’t ibang grupo buhat sa Filipino-Chinese Community sa bansa upang ipagdiwang ang pinakamalaki at pinakamagarbong Chinese New Year sa Pilipinas na gagawin sa Quirino Grandstand, Rizal Park, Manila sa darating na February 2, 2011.

Ayon  kay National Parks Development Committee (NPDC) Executive Director Juliet Villegas at kay Ruben Co, Chairman ng Federation of Filipino Chinese Alumni Associations, Inc, (CFFCAAI), at tumatayong over-all organizer at spokesperson ng event, itinuturing na kauna-unahan at makasaysayan ang naturang Chinese New Year event na inaasahang dadaluhan ng tinatayang aabot sa 300,000 katao. 

Bukod dito, layon rin umano ng naturang selebrasyon sa parke na muling maibalik bansa ang tiwala ng mga dayuhang turista matapos na madungisan ang imahe ng Pilipinas bunsod ng madugong hostage taking noong August 23, 2010.

Samantala, tampok sa pagdiriwang ng mga Tsinoy ay ang pagpapakita at pagbabahagi ng iba’t ibang uri ng kultura at kaugalian ng Chinese sa pamamagitan ng iba’t ibang uri ng pagsasayaw gaya ng Lion Dance at Dragon Dance, pananamit, pagkain gaya ng tikoy, paniniwala sa Feng Shui, gayundin ang pagpunta at stage performance ng iba’t ibang artista at singer sa mundo ng showbiz.  

Kabilang sa mga malalaking grupo ng Filipino-Chinese organization at association na makikiisa sa naturang pagdiriwang upang salubunin ang ‘Year of the Rabbit’ ay ang Association of Filipino Chinese Volunteer Fire Brigades, Federation of Filipino Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industries (FFCCCI), Chinese Filipino Business Club (CFBC), at Association of Filipino School in the Philippines (AFSP) katuwang naman bilang major sponsor ang Department of Tourism (DOT), NPDC at ang City Government of Manila.
