Caloocan police wants Dulay's custody

- Pete Laude -

MANILA, Philippines - The Caloocan City police yesterday urged their counterpart in La Union to turn over to them the owner of the torched vehicle with charred body inside for custodial investigation.

Senior Superintendent Jude Santos, Caloocan City police chief, tasked last night Chief Inspector Rodrigo Soriano to coordinate with Chief Inspector Artemio Infante, Bauang, La Union police chief for the transfer of Levi Dulay, 45, to the Caloocan City police custody.

Soriano said the La Union police informed Santos’ office that they would be turning over Dulay to the Caloocan City police.

Dulay, who was claimed by his wife, Ana Marie, as the dead man inside their Mitsubishi Adventure (WLV-586) found burning at around 2 a.m. on Jan. 16 along C-3 Road in Dagat-Dagatan, Caloocan City was found alive on Jan. 23 in Bauang, La Union.

Dulay was confined in a hospital in San Fernando, La Union for treatment of minor wounds he reportedly claimed he sustained when unidentified men abducted him and Gildo Chua along C-3 Road on Jan. 16.

Santos ordered yesterday Dr. Filemon Porciuncula Jr., the local police crime lab chief, to release the charred remains to Chua’s family saying the body belongs to Gildo Chua.
