Boxes of ammo dumped in Pasay
MANILA, Philippines – Boxes of ammuntion for small and high-powered firearms were found in a pile of garbage in Pasay City Tuesday.
Senior Superintendent Napoleon Cuaton, Pasay City police chief ordered a thorough investigation to trace the source of the ammunition, which was found by a garbage collector along Galvez Road, Figueroa street.
Responding policemen recovered 50 Super .38 pistol bullets, 27 .45 caliber pistol bullets, five .40 caliber pistol bullets, eight boxes of bullets for a .22 caliber pistol, two boxes of .22 caliber rifle bullets, 14 boxes of ammunition for a 12-gauge shotgun, 50 rounds for a .30 caliber sub-machinegun, five .38 caliber revolver bullets and 35 .9mm pistol bullets.
The site where the ammunition had been recovered is near the office of the Dasia Security Agency. Cuaton is currently coordinating with the security agency to determine whether it is the source of the recovered ammunition, which is under the safekeeping of the Pasay Special Weapons and Tactics unit.
