3 men shot dead over old grudge

MANILA, Philippines -Two brothers and a neighbor were shot dead by a man who barged into their house as the victims were celebrating New Year’s Eve in Quezon City.

Ben Ternal, 39, and his brother, Michael, 23, died at the East Avenue Medical Center while their neighbor, electrician Felsen Servantes, 40, was killed on the spot, according to Senior Police Officer 2 Roldan Dapat.

Witness Maricel Saballa, Ben’s live-in partner, told police Servantes had gone to their house to borrow her partner’s gun after crossing paths with the gunman, who was nursing an old grudge against Servantes.

Police said the victims were drinking when the gunman went into the Bernals’ house and shot them repeatedly. The attacker was accompanied by another man, who stood outside the house.

Police refused to name the gunman and his cohort until they are arrested.
