MANILA, Philippines – A highly talented carpenter, who is supporting his cancer-stricken mother, was himself found to be suffering from colon cancer and is in need of immediate medical help to undergo a series of chemotherapy procedures.
Vicente Yangco, Jr., 32, who earned a name for himself among his friends for carpentry skills he learned from his father, is appealing for help this Christmas from kind-hearted individuals to help finance his medication and prolong his life so he may continue to support his mother.
“I pray that I may get help and live a little longer because I am my parents’ sole breadwinner,” Vicente said in Filipino after learning he has stage four cancer.
His mother, Consuelo Yangco, 72, is suffering from ovarian cancer while his father, Vicente Yangco, Sr., 68, a retired carpenter, is suffering from tuberculosis. He also has a five-year-old son, Lorenz.
Vicente and his parents are living in a small shack on 20 Doña Isidora street in Barangay Holy Spirit, Diliman, Quezon City, where they have been given an eviction notice. Vicente may be contacted through cell phone number 09206722272.
