MANILA, Philippines - Two consecutive road accidents took place in Roxas Boulevard, Barangay Tambo, in Parañaque City yesterday afternoon because of drunk drivers who allegedly lost control of their brakes.
Parañaque City traffic aide Sihawi Ampaso told The STAR that the first accident happened about 2 p.m. when a trailer truck hit a Honda Civic.
Ampaso said the driver who ”appears to be drunk” told authorities that he “didn’t notice” the vehicle in front of him.
About 30 minutes later, another drunk motorcycle driver bumped into a jeepney while traversing the said road.
No one was hurt in both incidents, according to Ampaso.
Ampaso said that drunk driving is one of the major problems during the Yuletide season even as he said that authorities are intensifying its measures against drunk drivers.
