MANILA, Philippines - A brother of a former Pasay City councilor and five others were arrested in Newport, Pasay City yesterday for allegedly using fake credit cards to pay their hotel bills, casino expenses and pawnshop transactions.
Police said 50 fake Visa and Mastercard credit cards were seized from Arman Arceo, 30, brother of former councilor and defeated vice mayoral candidate Moti Arceo; Jessie Cunahap, 35; Gene Lozano, 35; Yolanda Perez, 57; Edwin Sy, 39; and Joseph Usi, 37.
Pasay City police chief Senior Superintendent Napoleon Cuaton said they have been monitoring the suspects for two weeks.
He said the six suspects will be charged for violating the access devices regulation law, which has a penalty of 12 to 20 years’ imprisonment.
