MANILA, Philippines - Police said yesterday they have yet to identify the two men whose bodies were dumped along a Caloocan City road Sunday.
Chief Inspector Rodrigo Soriano, Caloocan City police investigation chief, said the victims’ bodies, which bore gunshot wounds in the head and body, were found by a resident along a road in Kapalaran Village, Barangay 175 at around 5:40 a.m.
Virgilio Lapada, Barangay 175 watchman, told police that at around midnight they heard several gunshots but could not say if these are linked to the two bodies.
Lapada said the victims’ hands were tied and one of them has strangulation marks in the neck apart from gunshot wounds in the head and body.
According to Soriano, they recovered a .38 caliber revolver with bullets, a knife, a black bag containing a video disk player with small speaker and assorted T-shirts from the victims.
Police Officer 3 Joel Casin, Caloocan City police Sub-station 5 investigator, which has jurisdiction over the case, said the victims were both wearing denim shorts and two T-shirts each.
He said the bodies were brought to the police crime lab for autopsy and they were still waiting for the victims’ kin to show up at the police station.
Senior Superintendent Jude Santos, Caloocan City police chief, directed his men to “dig deeper” into the case.
