- Jerry Botial -

MANILA, Philippines – Three of at least six armed men were shot dead by responding police officers after they robbed the customers and crew of a coffee shop in Barangay West Fairview, Quezon City Wednesday night.

Police said the slain robbers remained unidentified. Three of their cohorts managed to elude arrest.

Senior Police Officer 1 Joselito Gagaza said Wilfredo Antonio, 26, lost his Macbook laptop, cell phone, wristwatch and iPod.

According to police, Antonio was taking his coffee and reading his mail at the Read and Brew Coffeeshop when the robbers barged into the shop.

The robbers ordered Antonio and the shop’s personnel to lie face down on the floor as they divested the victims of their cash and valuables.

After taking the loot, one of the robbers fired some rounds, alerting police in the area. A shootout followed, resulting in the death of the three robbers.
