MANILA, Philippines - A 63-year-old engineer was arrested for handing fake papers supposedly from the Philippine Construction Accreditation Board to a construction firm owner.
Police said Antonio Managuelod Tumolva complained that Reynaldo Villanueva had issued a fake receipt for a transaction amounting to over P500,000.
Villanueva was arrested after receiving P15,000 in marked money from the Tumolva, police added.
In his complaint, Tumolva said Villanueva claimed to be an expert in processing applications at the Philippine Construction Accreditation Board.
Tumolva told police after he had given Villanueva more than P525,000 to upgrade his firm’s status, Villanueva failed to deliver.
He later discovered that the licenses and receipts handed to him by the Villanueva turned were fakes, Tumolva added.
