Bus firms offer to shuttle Pasig River run participants

MANILA, Philippines - Several Metro Manila bus companies showed yesterday their support for rehabilitating the Pasig River by agreeing to provide free bus service to runners who will join the “10.10.10 Run for Pasig River” on Sunday.

The bus firms will shuttle runners wearing their race bibs to and from the Metro Rail Transit Taft station and the SM Mall of Asia.

The bus companies will be using more than 80 buses for this endeavor, organizers said.

ABS-CBN Foundation president Gina Lopez and Integrated Metro Manila Bus Operators Association president Claire de la Fuente declared the partnership in a press conference yesterday.

The Kapit Bisig para sa Ilog Pasig also aims to make a world record when it stages the fun run. Organizers aim to get at least 120,000 runners to join the 3-kilometer, 5-km, and 10-km races to help raise funds for the Pasig River cleanup program.
