Printing firm sues Diether Ocampo for P3.6-million debt
MANILA, Philippines – A printing company wants actor Diether Ocampo and others to pay P3.6 million for their alleged failure to settle their debt for the printing of a men’s magazine.
In a three-page complaint for before the Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 219, Velprint Corp. said Ocampo, his partner Neil Angelo Romero, and 5 Leaf Publishing Corp. contracted Velprint’s services from June 2 to Dec. 28, 2009 to print UNO magazine.
Velprint said the contract for P4,124,970 was covered by post-dated checks but despite full delivery of services, Ocampo’s group allegedly paid only P490,000, with a balance of P3,643,970 as of July 22.
The complainant said Ocampo’s group issued seven bank checks to pay for the printing job, but the checks bounced due to “insufficient funds.”
Velprint also asked the court to order Ocampo’s group to pay 18 percent per year in interest of their remaining obligation, from the due date of the sales invoice until the full payment is completed.
Velprint also asked the court to order Ocampo’s group to shoulder 25 percent of the total amount of their attorney’s fees and cost of the litigation.
