Roxas Blvd, Taft Ave closed for Bar exams, Alay Lakad

MANILA, Philippines - Portions of Roxas Boulevard and Taft Avenue will be closed to vehicular traffic today to give way to the holding of the Bar examinations at the De La Salle University and the Alay Lakad ng Kabataan walkathon at Rizal Park.

Manila District Traffic Enforcement Unit chief Superintendent Rizaldy Yap said the southbound lane of Taft Avenue, from President Quirino Avenue to Pablo Ocampo street, will be closed from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. today.

According to Yap, heavy traffic is expected in the early morning as thousands are expected to participate in the Alay Lakad at Rizal Park starting at 4 a.m. The event is expected to last till noon.

The north and southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard shall be closed, including P. Burgos to Lagusnilad in Taft Avenue, T.M. Kalaw and Ayala corner Finance streets.

Yap said he will deploy additional traffic enforcers and policemen in the affected areas.
