2 partygoers dead, 2 hurt in drive-by shooting
MANILA, Philippines - Two men were killed while two others were injured after five unidentified armed men, two riding tandem on a motorcycle, shot at them repeatedly as they walked home from a birthday party Friday night in Quezon City.
Police identified the slain victims as tricycle driver Renato Garcia, 22, and Carl Capilio, 18, both residents of Halamanan area in Barangay Commonwealth.
Joseph Alcovendas Jr, 20, and Mark Gallarpez, 19, both of Molave street in Barangay Payatas B, were injured.
Witnesses described the gunmen as at least 40 years old.
Records show the victims were walking home after celebrating the birthday of a friend named “Mariel” on Linada street at around 10 p.m. Friday when the attack happened.
The identity of the suspects and the motive for the killing are yet to be determined by investigators.
