Stewardess loses P1.5-million high-end bags to thieves
MANILA, Philippines – A flight stewardess, her husband and sister lost at least P1.5 million worth of high-end bags and other goods to thieves who pried open the trunk of their car as the victims had dinner at a restaurant in Pasig City Tuesday night.
Eastern Police District (EPD) director Chief Superintendent Francisco Manalo identified the victims as Rachelle Aguinaldo-Manzanero, a flight stewardess of Egypt Air; her husband, Aris; and her sister, Richilda Aguinaldo, all residents of Barangay San Andres in Cainta, Rizal.
Police said the victims were on their way home from the airport when they decided to eat dinner at a restaurant in Barangay Ugong at about 10 p.m. Tuesday.
PO2 Rex Baygar said Richilda, who owns the vehicle, parked her car along Capt. Henry Javier street and they walked to the restaurant.
An hour later, the victims returned and were surprised to see the trunk of their car open and empty.
Baygar said the robbers took a Japan Alien Registration car, 10 branded watches, a MacBook laptop, two Expera mobile phones, five Louis Vuitton bags, five Chanel bags, five Hermes bags and three Gucci bags. The victims claimed they bought the items abroad to sell them to their friends at low prices.
