LRA to link RP's registries online by 2011
MANILA, Philippines - All 168 registries of deeds nationwide will be linked via a computer network by November next year, an official said Friday.
Ronald Ortile, Land Registration Authority (LRA) deputy administrator, said by next year the public can transact business online at any register of deeds wherever their lands are located.
Speaking before the 1st Organization of Socialized Housing Developers–Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council National Convention in Davao Friday, Ortile said LRA Administrator Eulalio Diaz issued a directive to all registries using the computerized system to ensure that transactions involving the recording and registration of deeds affecting chattel mortgages, personal properties, unregistered land and registered land shall be completed and released 20 days from the date of entry in the electronic primary entry books.
Diaz also set a deadline of five days for the completion and release of transactions involving requests for certifications, certified true copies, and verifications of land titles.
Ortile urged the public to demand systems-generated official receipts from the cashier of the register of deeds, warning that there will be no more ordinary official receipts at registries that have been computerized.
