Fastfood restaurant crew, patrons robbed
MANILA, Philippines – Four men armed with handguns and a grenade robbed the customers and crew of a fastfood restaurant at the corner of Banawe and Tirad Pass streets in Quezon City before dawn yesterday.
Police said the robbers, aged between 30 and 35 years old, arrived in a Varilla taxicab, later determined to have been stolen. They entered the restaurant, posing as customers, at around 4:05 a.m.
Two of the robbers approached security guard Romeo Antola Jr., 34, poked a gun at him and disarmed him.
The other two went to the counter, scooped the money from the register and divested the customers and crew of at least P15,000 and five cell phones.
The robbers then left the scene using a Honda City (ZSH-822) parked at the restaurant’s parking lot. The car, owned by Luz Yu, 60, was abandoned at the parking area of a nearby restaurant.
