MANILA, Philippines - A 53-year-old technician of a construction firm was shot during a P140,000 payroll robbery in Pasig City Monday.
The victim, Nilo Leal, who works for the PECC Construction and Industrial Corp. on Pasco Avenue in Barangay Santolan, was shot in the right thigh, with the bullet going through both thighs.
He was rushed to the Amang Rodriguez Medical Hospital in Marikina City, where he remains confined.
A police report said Leal withdrew P140,000 payroll money from a bank’s Amang Rodriguez branch at about 11:50 a.m. Monday.
Leal was on his way back to their office when the motorcycle he was riding was blocked by an armed man riding in tandem on another motorcycle.
The victim tried to elude the suspects but the back rider shot at him. The gunman grabbed the bag from Leal and boarded the waiting motorcycle and fled towards unknown direction.
