Roxas Boulevard closed for INC anniversary

- Aie Balagtas See -

MANILA, Philippines – The intersection of Roxas Boulevard and Libertad street in Pasay City will be closed to traffic starting at noon today for the 96th founding anniversary of Iglesia ni Cristo (INC).

Pasay City Mayor Antonino Calixto said the directive aims to give way to the 30,000 INC members from southern Metro Manila who are expected to participate at the celebrations to be held at the Cuneta Astrodome and Pasay City Sports Complex at 4 p.m.

Motorists are advised to take Macapagal Avenue or Taft Avenue as alternative routes. In a phone interview, Calixto said there is no exact time when the road will be reopened.

The traffic flow along the streets of Derham and F.B. Harrison, Sen. Gil Puyat Avenue, and the corner of EDSA and Harrison may be affected by the road closure and the number of people going to the Astrodome, the Southern Police District (SPD) said.

SPD and Pasay Traffic Management Office personnel will be deployed to facilitate the flow of traffic, Calixto said.
