- Pete Laude -

MANILA, Philippines – A Chinese trader was shot by two unidentified motorcycle-riding robbers in Caloocan City Wednesday afternoon.

Superintendent Florendo Quibuyen, the city police officer-in-charge, said Sze Man Yim, 60, a resident of Manila, sustained two gunshot wounds in the body.

Police Officer 3 Joselito Barredo Jr. said Sze was walking at the corner of J. Teodoro street and 3rd Avenue when two men on a motorcycle suddenly grabbed his bag at around 1:30 p.m.

Sze resisted but one of the suspects, armed with a handgun, shot him twice in the body.

The suspects took the victim’s bag, containing more than P200,000, and sped away on their motorcycle.

Witnesses reported the incident to the nearby Police Community Precinct 5 but the police failed to arrest the robbers.

The victim was brought to the Chinese General Hospital for treatment.
