3 luxury cars damaged in showroom mishap

- Non Alquitran -

MANILA, Philippines – Three luxury cars were destroyed when a steel beam fell from the ceiling of a showroom in Mandaluyong City at the height of typhoon “Basyang” Tuesday.

Allan Jimenez, 27, sales manager of the Shaw Automotive Resources Inc., is seeking P4 million in damages from Design Coordinates Inc., owner of the building where the showroom is located.

According to a report, strong winds brought by Basyang caused the beam to fall from the ceiling of the building at 411 Shaw Boulevard street and destroyed a black Starex Limousine worth P2.6 million, a gray Hyundai Sta. Fe valued at P1.5 million, and a Hyundai Tucson worth P1.08 million. Jimenez said the luxury cars are beyond repair.

Senior Inspector Ricardo Cristobal, chief of the Mandaluyong City police criminal investigation unit, said Jimenez insisted that the luxury vehicles be replaced by new ones.
