MANILA, Philippines - Two luxury speedboats were seized by the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and the Bureau of Customs (BOC) yesterday after receiving information that they were allegedly smuggled into the country from Florida in the United States.
The PCG reported that the speedboats – bearing the side markings “RDB” and “Scarab” – were docked at the wharf of the Metro Star Ferry Inc., behind a mall in Pasay City.
A PCG official said they are verifying the information they received regarding the speedboats.
Each vessel was said to be equipped with 250-horsepower outboard engines. The PCG said the two vessels, which will be towed to its headquarters, are worth millions of pesos.
