3 dead in motorbike collision

MANILA, Philippines - Three persons, two of whom were riding tandem, were killed when the motorcycles they were riding collided head-on along Marcelo del Pilar Highway in Barangay Maysilo, Malabon City Sunday night, police said yesterday.

A traffic spot report identified the victims as Jun Erice, 24; Roel Bautista; and Julian Cleofas, 42, all residents of Barangay Maysilo.

According to the report, Erice was driving while Bautista rode behind him. Erice reportedly tried to overtake a truck at high speed when their motorcycle slammed head-on into Cleofas’ motorcycle.

Cleofas and Erice died on the spot while Bautista died on the way to the Valenzuela City General Hospital.

Police officers are still investigating the accident.
