Teen lovers found dead in car

- Jerry Botial -

MANILA, Philippines - A teenage couple was found naked and dead of suspected carbon monoxide poisoning in a car in Villanova Subdivision, Quezon City Sunday night.

Chief Inspector Benjamin Elenzano Jr., Quezon City police homicide investigation chief, identified the victims as John Edward Aguirre, 18, a first year college student; and a 15-year-old girl who was on her fourth year in high school.

Elenzano said they suspect the two could have died of carbon monoxide poisoning. According to Senior Police Officer 2 Neil Garnace, the victims were already dead when they were found by Aguirre’s aunt, Paz Tesoro, in a Toyota Corona (TMY-240) parked in their garage at around 7 p.m. Sunday.

Tesoro last saw the couple alive at around 3 p.m. at the second-floor balcony.

Tesoro said at around 7 p.m., she heard a car’s engine running in the garage and went to look. She was puzzled why the car was covered when the motor was running and proceeded to uncover the parked car. To her surprise, she found the two teenagers apparently lifeless in the backseat of the car.

Tesoro reported the incident to the police. Scene of the Crime Operatives found no external injuries on the victims.

The victims were taken separately to the Divine Heart Medical Service and the Drueco Clinic, where they were declared dead on arrival.

A follow-up investigation is ongoing, police said.
