OSG office to transfer to Taguig

- Edu Punay -

MANILA, Philippines - Acting Solicitor General Alberto Agra is leaving his office with a legacy – an upcoming new office at the Global City in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.

The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) approved recently the allocation of a 1.7-hectare property in the Global City business district, Agra confirmed yesterday, two days before he steps down for the next administration.

Agra said the property allotted to Office of Solicitor General (OSG) is almost double the area the BCDA had earlier committed.

“Under the leadership of former Solicitor General Agnes Devanadera, she was able to sign a memorandum of agreement with the BCDA for use of .9 hectares of BCDA property for the OSG office. After our meeting with board of director our .9 hectares became 1.7 hectares,” he said.

He said the new OSG building would be available for use next year.

As he leaves the OSG after serving as its head for almost six months, Agra thanked its officers and employees for their “warm welcome and tireless support that allowed me to orderly discharge the duties and responsibilities of an acting solicitor general.”

He lauded his colleagues in OSG for taking all efforts “not only to meet the expectations but to surpass them” in handling all cases over the past 109 years.
