CHR worker suspended for poking gun at colleague

- Michael Punongbayan -

MANILA, Philippines - The Office of the Ombudsman has issued a one-month suspension order against a Commission on Human Rights (CHR) employee who poked a gun at one of his female colleagues.

In a decision approved by Ombudsman Ma. Merceditas Gutierrez, the anti-graft body said Hubert Villaflor Ruiz, a management audit analyst, should be suspended for a month without pay for the offense of simple misconduct.

The case against him stemmed from a complaint filed by Maria Grace Tuliao, who claimed that Ruiz poked a gun at her while under the influence of alcohol on Dec. 23, 2005.
