MANILA, Philippines - The Navotas City government will inaugurate today a new school building at the Navotas National High School (NNHS) in Barangay Sipac.
Outgoing Mayor Toby Tiangco said with the inauguration of the two-story four-classroom building and the reopening of a newly renovated two-story four-classroom building at the NNHS, around 1,000 more students could be accepted.
“It is inspiring to note that with the construction of these buildings, more students are expected to finish their education,” Tiangco said.
The mayor said the projects also exemplify his commitment to provide quality education to the “children of our city.”
NNHS principal Ma. Cristina Robles said the buildings’ opening is a timely “back-to-school gift” to the students and parents.
Tiangco said another school building is undergoing construction in Barangay North Bay Boulevard North Elementary School, which is set for completion for next month.
He said the projects were done through the local government’s Kalinga sa Kabataang Navoteño program, that aims to provide free educational assistance to students in public schools by building more infrastructure projects for them.
Expected to grace the inauguration and blessing of the new classrooms are mayor-elect John Rey Tiangco, local Department of Education and city officials.
