Camanava computer shop rob gang busted

- Pete Laude -

MANILA, Philippines - Four alleged members of a robbery gang targeting computer shops were arrested Saturday after they allegedly broke into another computer shop in Caloocan City.

Superintendent Florendo Quibuyen, Caloocan City police acting chief, said Edwin Gonzales, 38; Erwin Marcos, 42; Gerardo Ortiz, 28; and Danilo Sagun, 31, were arrested at around 2 a.m. after the owner of a computer shop on Martinez street called the police, claiming at least four men robbed his shop and fled in a gray L-300 van.

Quibuyen said the suspects’ gray L-300 van (WFM-987) yielded four stolen central processing units (CPUs) and two computer monitors when intercepted by his men at the corner of A. Mabini street and J. P. Rizal Avenue Extension.

He said the “operational pattern” of the suspects, and the vehicle used in other computer shop robberies in Camanava and in Meycauayan, Bulacan showed only one group could have done them.

The Caloocan City police are to verify today with the Land Transportation Office the identity of the owner of the vehicle used by the suspects in their operations.
