- Reinir Padua -

MANILA, Philippines - A Korean national was shot in front of his girlfriend by motorcycle-riding attackers in Quezon City Saturday night.

Chunso Lee, 36, sustained a gunshot wound in the chest. He was rushed to the St. Luke’s Medical Center where he underwent surgery for his wound.

Lee’s girlfriend, Jelyn Cyril Pullantes, told the police that they were standing in front of a fastfood restaurant on E. Rodriguez Sr. Boulevard in Barangay Mariana when two men on a motorcycle stopped in front of them.

One of the attackers suddenly pointed a gun at the victim and shot him. After the victim fell, the suspects quickly fled.

Superintendent Lino Banaag, head of the Quezon City Police District-Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit, said the Yamaha motorcycle used by the attackers had a “for registration” plate.

According to Banaag, they have yet to identify the ones behind the attack and determine the motive behind it. Investigators have yet to talk with the victim.
