Ex-PBA player's son arrested in drug bust

- Jerry Botial -

MANILA, Philippines - The 22-year-old son of a former Philippine Basketball Association player was arrested in a drug bust in Quezon City over the weekend, authorities reported yesterday.

Police Officer 3 Wilfredo Corona of the Quezon City Police District’s Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group (DAID-SOTG) identified the suspect as Andrew Cabatu, reportedly the son of Sonny Cabatu, who used to play for Ginebra and Shell, among others.

The younger Cabatu, a college student of the Far Eastern University (FEU), was charged with drug pushing before the city prosecutor’s office.

Corona said Cabatu reportedly sold P300 worth of marijuana to an undercover police officer at around 2 a.m. Sunday.
