Malabon computer shop burglarized

MANILA, Philippines – A computer shop in Malabon City lost cash and equipment worth P200,000 to un-identified burglars riding in a white van Saturday.

Marimie Gabriel, 24, owner of the Speed Wire Internet Café in Barangay Tinajeros in Malabon City, told the police that the suspects almost emptied her shop of equipment.

She said the robbers took six LCD monitors, nine central processing units (CPUs) and five keyboards including the P3,000 placed inside the office table.

A 16-year-old boy told the police that at around 3:15 a.m., he saw several men carrying the stolen items to a parked white van in front of the shop and hastily left. He was only able to jot down the vehicle’s license plate’s control number — 428.

Police Officer 3 Edsel de la Paz said the suspects used a bolt cutter to cut off the padlock of the shop’s roll-up steel door. They forcibly opened the second door by also destroying its padlock.

The robbers scoured the shop of cash and its apparatus and escaped with their getaway vehicle toward Gov. Pascual Avenue.

The Northern Police District-Crime Laboratory Service led by Chief Inspector Albert Arturo processed the crime scene for eviden-ces, which may lead the police to the suspects.
