Clerk arrested for stealing 'load'

- Jerry Botial -

MANILA, Philippines – A stay-in clerk of a cell phone reloading station was arrested in Barangay Tandang Sora, Quezon City yesterday after her employer found out she had been reportedly stealing electronic load.

Station owner Cecilia Dullas, 35, accused Christina Ilumin, 21, of not remitting P78,500 worth of “electronic load.”

Dullas said she hired Ilumin in July last year as a stay-in sales clerk/electronic reloader at her establishment.

Early last week, while making a sales inventory, Dullas noticed certain discrepancies in the entries for the store's daily sales record and the suspect's sales report.

This prompted the complainant to instruct other sales clerks to report to her to verify her discovery and to reconcile the figures in the two documents. It was there that she found out the amount was reportedly not remitted by Ilumin, who faces charges of qualified theft before the city prosecutor's office.
