MANILA, Philippines – Three robbers shot dead a man riding home on his motorcycle before dawn yesterday in Quezon City and used his motorcycle to flee the scene.
Senior Police Officer 1 Remo Duro of the Batasan police station reported the incident to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (CIDU) in Camp Karingal at around 3:41 a.m. yesterday.
Duro identified the victim as Gomer Gomez, 40, a checker of Igloo Philippines Inc., and a resident of Molave Extension in Payatas B.
Gomez died on the spot from a gunshot wound in the chest. Among the items taken from the victim were his wallet containing personal ID cards, bank cards, driver's license and an undetermined amount of money and his red-striped black Honda XRM (1109NL), police said.
Records show the victim was traveling home at around 3 a.m. when one of three robbers blocked his path at the corner of San Lucas and San Juan Bautista streets.
A second robber held him so he couldn't move, and the third shot him.
