Honest NAIA worker returns money to Chinese passenger

MANILA, Philippines - A trolley retriever at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2 turned over a black clutch bag that had been left behind by a Chinese national bound for Xiamen yesterday.

The clutch bag, owned by Hong Quing Chi of Fujian City, contained 5,549 yuan (around P35,000) and a cell phone. Hong has a local address in Valenzuela City.

Trolley retriever Romeo Azul said while he was retrieving the trolleys, he noticed the clutch bag and called the attention of airport policemen Bing Seno, Ernie Tuserero and Edmund Ignacio. The policemen found Chi at the immigration area and returned his bag.

Manila International Airport Authority general manager Melvin Matibag, who praised Azul for his honesty, said Hong gave Azul some P500 as a token of gratitude for returning his money and cell phone.
